Would like to learn more about SOPC and NIOS II

Hello all,

I've been introduced to Verilog, Quartus, NIOS II, SOPC, and now DSP Builder during my last two semesters in grad school. While I've learned a lot, I feel I've only scratched the surface. I've loaded the demos that came with the DE2-70 board we used, and reviewed the code. Since I'm not a strong programmer, much of it (C and Verilog) I've struggled with. I'd like to learn a lot more over the summer, especially about SOPC and DSP Builder. Is there a book(s), videos, online class/tutorial that will walk a novice through lots of examples, with detailed explainations along the way?

Thanks in advance.

have you checked out the online trainings at Altera's website? there are also a good number of examples that come with DSP Builder (though the standard blockset is pretty straight forward). there are some application notes in the literature section that you also may find useful.

i find that learning tools is most effective when you have a specific, reasonable goal in mind.

No I haven't tried those yet, but I will take a look at them. Thanks for reminding of them!
