@JohnT_Intel I tried asking intel regarding which OS to install

They pointed to Ubuntu 18.04

Shall I repeat? Which exactly OS [exact OS image [iso]will work with the PAC ? In a way the installation script will install everything including the driver?

Hi,

For standard installation, it is supporting Ubuntu 18.04. You may refer to https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/docs/programmable/683633/1-2-1/system-requirements.html

Hello

Coud you confirm

That on 18.04 not only opae-sdk installs with linux-dfl from opae repository

But the intel setup script install also installing linux-dfl from dev stack install script, please?

Other Intel folks pointed out that intel dev stack install script doesn't install linux-dfl at any OS as I understand

Moreover installing it manually from opae-sdk results in nothing but in boot error when booting from linux -dfl kernel.

Any ideas?

Hi,

The 18.04 is for the OPAE-SDK and not the linux-dfl. The reason is that the PAC installation package will have their own driver. The OPAE in github driver is linux-dfl.

I would recommend to try using the installation package to make sure everything works before moving to OPAE github version

I was pointed out by Intel folks that installation of linux dfl driver is not supported from the intel installer [ it results in error]

Hi,

The linux-dfl and PAC installation is using different driver. Linux-dfl is a open source driver that can work with Intel PAC card.

Is it possible to implement the PAC installation

using the intel script on any specific OS?

So that everything including the kernel/ drivers gets installed from the intel script?

Or that is not supported on any OS?

Hi,

If you are using the below OS then you should be able to follow the installation guide in https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/docs/programmable/683633/1-2-1/installing-the-opae-software-package.html

  • Red Hat* Enterprise Linux* (RHEL) 7.6, kernel version 3.10.0-957
  • Ubuntu* 18.04, kernel 4.15

@JohnT_Intel We are having hard times getting the package bw2tk-lite-2018.6.u1604.amd64.deb through a registration at third party website that doesn't seem functioning for getting through register-download cycle.

Could you share the package for flashing the firmware please ?

Hi,

Can you move forward without installing "bw2tk-lite-2018.6.u1604.amd64.deb"?

Hi @JohnT_Intel

Thank you for following up.

The problem was that the firmware seems was for 1.0 which would cause some mismatch[ see screenshot from devs]

So we would wish to upgrade it to compatible with 1.2.1

However, it was possible to download the bw2tk package from community forum, although it would be more like for ubuntu 16.04 so may have some issues with compatibility.
