capacitive switch using maxII

Hello,  

 has anybody tried to make this like it's decscibed in the EDN article ?   edn-europe.com/capacitivetouchswitchusescpld+article+2250+europe.html  How do I insert that Schmitt trigger symbol ? Is the touch sensor a normal input pin or bidirectional ? What's the symbol above the schmitt trigger , a tri-buffer ?   thanks
