run Questa Intel FPGA from Quartus Prime

I am trying to replace ModelSim-Intel with Questa Intel FPGA in Quartus Prime. In Quartus Prime I set the EDA tools as Questa Intel FPGA, and the path (Tools->Options->EDA Tools Options) as questa_fse. then run the simulator from Tools->Run Simulation Tool ->RTL simulation. But there is an error message about path not specified or found.

Any idea how to run Questa Intel FPGA within Quartus? If I have to invoke Questa outside of Quaruts, what are the steps and how do I link the design in Quartus with Questa simulation?

You have to point to the win64 directory inside questa_fse (assuming you are using Windows but wherever the actual executable is).

Many thanks for your reply. Yes I am using window64. I have pointed to win64 as you suggested and it moves a bitfurther. Now I got Fatal License Error, saying unable to checkout license. I have obtained the free license for Questa Intel FPGA, and set LM_LICENSE_FILE environment variable to this file, and in Quartus Tools->License Setup, I ticked Use LM_LICENSE_FILE Variable.

By the way I can run Questa Intel FPGA independently without license issue. It happens when in Quartus, run Tools-> Run Simulation Tool.

Hi

Could you provide the license.dat file and error message screenshot for checking?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I restarted Quartus, and the license worked!
