Hi Everyone,
For those who did the tutorial "using triple-speed ethernet on de2-115 boards" Did any one try to sniff the packets between eth0 and eth1 by connecting a hub between them , cause when I tried doing so , I didn't receive any frames from the terminal , i had to connect eth0 with eth1 directly with no intermediate devices, can any one advice me why it doesn't work when i connect a hub. thanks and appreciate your helpLink Copied

Are you by any chance using a crossover cable when connecting the two boards directly? That would normally be required (connect Tx on one board to Rx on the other and vice versa). Most Phys these days can figure it out automatically, but maybe your hub can't. When connecting through the hub just make sure you're using normal non-crossover cables.

thanks rsefton for your reply , but actually i am setting the auto negotiation and beside that am using a straight cable , but i figured out that the problem is with the hub port speed which is 100 M and i am using the core variation ethernet 10/100/1000, but it doesn't work at 100M
so when i switched the core variation to be small MAC (ethernet 10/100) it worked through the hub as i need but didn't work if i connect the cable directly from eth0 to eth1 !!!, but that configuration is more suitable for me to be able to debug the problem i am facing now that i can't receive any packets from the laptop to the board , the phy chip receive the packet but i think it discard it as the destination mac address is not as the one assigned , but i set the promis_en bit in the conf register but still the frame is discarded can you help me solving this issue thanks in advance
