what is the procedure to change notepad to default text editor for modelsim? plz specify each step explicitly.

Hi,

 

Highlight the (.v/.vhd) file by click on it. Then, right mouse button click. Select "Properties" and click on "Change"

Next, select any software as you like...ModelSim or notepad.

image.pngHi @SAR​ can you double check the steps you describe, I don't see an option to change Text Editor, but to change the file type.

 

This is using Modelsim Intel Edition 10.5b

From Modelsim Intel menu go to Tools > Edit Preferences

 

Look for Editor

 

Click change value and point to the executable of your TextEditor.

Modelsim->Tools->preferences->By Name->select "main"->select"Editor"

And follow the images posted above.
