What process or program is actually causing the HDD accesses? Windows 10 task manager should also show this.

Verify with your laptop manufacturer if there are available compatible drivers with Microsoft® Windows 10. The Intel® Rapid Storage Technology driver is necessary if you are planning to create a RAID volume, use SMART cache memory and Rapid Start Technology.
Run Microsoft® Windows update utility in order to update the drivers of your laptop.
