I updated the RST Driver to version 17.5.1.1021 due to compatibility issues with Windows10 1093 update, but problem persists.

Uninstall the currently installed RST Driver. In Device Manager, you should look for Intel RST Software in Storage controllers. You will see line "Intel(R) Chipset SATA/PCIe RST Premium Controller. Check the "Delete.." option when uninstalling.
Next, install the latest RST driver again.

Actually, you should not uninstall this package from Device Manager. There is a lot more than a driver installed. You need to use the entry in the Apps & Features applet to uninstall this package.
Secondly, after uninstall the the package, reboot and do the Windows 10 upgrade. You can reinstall the RST package after completing this upgrade.
Hope this helps,
