No create (RAID) button

Hi all,

I am using the Intel Rapid Storage Technology at my work place and on all of the new machines that come to us from our suppliers the RST is already installed, preconfigured and most inmportant it works. There are two HDD's in every computer and are in RAID 1. Recently we wanted to change the HDD's with SSD's. I made an Image form the Hard Drive in Port 0, recovered it to the SSD and plugged it into the Port 0. In Port 1 i plugged the other SSD. Here Comes the Problem - i don't see the create button in Intel's RST Software in order to create the RAID 1. The purpose of the Software is to create a RAID without having to reinstall your OS (which is not an Option because the Computers are actuall machines in production). I have already checked the BIOS Settings and everything seems to be in order. I have tried with Versions 12 to 14, no luck. Please, can somebody help me with this Problem. Thanks

What kind of memory RAM are you using, please provide the speed and voltage? What is the model of each SSD? Which is the operating system that you are using? Alberto

RAM: 2 SODIMM204-1.35 V/DDR3L

Thank you very much for that information. Are you trying to create the RAID 1 with the SSDs from scratch? If that is the case, you just need to get into control+i menu, to do that you just need to tap control key and I key several time when the PC is starting up. Once you get to that menu, make sure both SSDs show as member disc, and you should be able to create the RAID 1 from scratch, but all the information will be lost, from the previous RAID 1 that you have with the hard drives. Now, if you need to keep the information from the previous RAID1, then you need to access the control+i menu, the look for the option that says: Reset Disks to Non-RAID, then disconnect one of them, and connect one SSD, and chose create RAID 1, the option should be available this way. And then do the same with the other SSD, disconnect the hard drive, connect the other SSD and choose, create RAID 1, that will be the way to keep the previous information. I was on vacation and that is why I was not able to write you an answer right away. This is the situation at the Moment:

The Problem still persists. I want to keep the information from the previous RAID 1, but I actually need to change both HDDs that are in the RAID 1 with SSDs that will also be in RAID 1. The most important thing is not to lose any data. How do I achieve that?

If you need to keep the information from the previous RAID 1, then you need to access the control+i menu, the look for the option that says: Reset Disks to Non-RAID, then disconnect one of them, and connect one SSD, and choose create RAID 1, the option should be available this way.
