I just installed a Samsung NVMe SSD 960 Pro in my desktop, as a boot drive. It's fully operational but it's not showing up on the Storage System View in the Intel RST application. Is this a problem or is it simply because it's not a SATA device?

I believe that NVMe drives can be supported by RST, but only if the BIOS contains support for redirection and it is enabled in the BIOS configuration.

RST does support NVMe. But my understanding is that I can't combine NVMe and SATA storage in the same RAID configuration using RST. I've opted for a SATA configuration in my BIOS. I'm trying to find out if the NVMe isn't showing in the Intel application due to a glitch of some kind, or it's not showing simply because I can't use it? Thanks!

Wanner,
I hope this post gets your attention. It appears that, in my delay, the thread has been closed. I still can't see my NVMe SSD in the Intel RST app. I tried installing the Samsung Magician app. It tells me everything's OK with the drive, but it didn't show up in the Intel app. As requested, here's a copy of my System Report:

Hello adelpit,
You have an old Intel® Rapid Storage Technology driver version installed: Version: 15.7.5.1025 ,A03.
Try installing a newer generic version and check if your NVMe SSD 960 Pro shows up on the Storage System View.

Wanner,
I'm afraid that didn't work. I installed the latest app and driver. The SSD still doesn't show, even after scanning for hardware within the Intel app. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hello adelpit
Thank you for your response.
Do you know if on your system the NVMe SSD is been handled by a different SATA controller?
Regards,
Leonardo C.

I have two thoughts:
- I wonder if the Redirection feature is not being enabled in BIOS (if indeed the BIOS provides support for this capability)?
- I wonder if this is as a result of the Samsung NVMe driver being loaded?
