VMD and hotplugging

Hello,

I submitted this post on another forum already, processors, but, maybe, this one is the more accurate . So, again, my problem:

I understand that VMD is supporting NVMe hotplug and that RST is necessary for RAIDs.  I need both: RAID1 for SYS and hotplugging for external NVMe SSDs. My setting:

Asus Prime Z790-A WiFi mainboard (UEFI and PCH support VMD and RST)
Core i7-14700K CPU (supports VMD)
MicroSataCables PCIe x4 Gen4 with Redriver to OCuLink 4i Host Bus Adapter (PCIe4.0x4 to OCuLink AIC)
MicroSataCables SlimSAS 4i to OCuLink 4i Cable
Icy Dock flexiDockMB021VP-B (2.5" U.2/U.3 NVMe SSD PCIe 4.0 Tray-less Enclosure)
IcyDock EZConvert MB705M2P-B: U.2 to NVMe converter
Crucial T500 1 TB NVMe SSD
Windows 11 w/ actual updates (23H2, 24H2 is currently incompatible with Asus mainboards)

In UEFI, VMD is activated, RST for NVMe and AHCI, too, and the newest RST (18.7.6.1010.3) drivers are installed. I can see the internal SSDs for creating a RAID (which I did not so far) in the RST section.

The problem: I cannot hotplug the external SSD in the enclosure: Windows "sees" it only after Re-Booting the System next to inserting the SSD to the enclosure, and after it's removal it disappears from Explorer only after reboot, too. To my understanding, this is not what hotplugging is intended to, and which to my knowledge is one reason for and feature of VMD.

Can anybody help? Thank you very much in advance
