12-pin AXXTPMENC8 TPM for S2600ST LGA 3647 motherboard

Hello there. I am trying to find a TPM 2.0 module for my Intel S2600ST dual socket LGA 3647 motherboard.

According to the manual, it should be a 12-pin AXXTPMENC8 module, the only problem is that AXXTPMENC8 is a 14-pin module while the motherboard's connector is indeed a 12-pin one.

Where can I find this misterious 12-pin connector or at least some specification of it.

More info with pictures and screenshots is available here:

Hi Mohammed. I am sorry if this sounds rude but I suspect that you did not read my post and did not look at the pictures I attached. So, please do that and I will repeat myself:

  1. Intel S2600ST motherboard manual says that the motherboard uses 12-pin TPM module.
  2. My S2600ST motherboard has a 12-pin TPM header.

Now, please help me find a 12-pin TPM module that is compatible with my motherboard.

Hello Dinesh. Since your email was not marked as confidential, I will post its content here on the forum for everyone to see how incompetent Intel support replies are.

May I ask you, did you read the original post? Did you see the pictures attached? I DO NOT have the TPM module, I have an Intel S2600ST motherboard with a 12-pin TPM header.

I am only asking for a link to a store where I can buy a compatible 12-pin TPM module or a page where I can see specs of such a module.

Hi Miyconst,

Greetings !!

We are really sorry for the inconvenience caused thus far as your query was misinterpreted. We would like to inform that any comment from either side, posted in this community is visible to public. However the email sent to you separately is confidential by default and only you are the intended recipient. It will not have any separate label as - Intel Confidential.

Thank you for re-iterating and clarifying your issue again. We understand that you do not have the TPM Module with you. As you might have checked it and found this module - AXXTPMENC8 to be a 14 PIN connector. For this issue, we are checking in our end to see if there is a 12-Pin module for same model or if any other model is there.

As of your query "a link to a store where I can buy a compatible 12-pin TPM module" Please refer to the below link of our Intel's authorized distributors :

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/partner/showcase/partner-directory/distributor.html#sort=relevancy

Aside this, you can also check in any e-commerce sites. We will get back to you again with a confirmation on the model of the TPM Module 12-Pin so that you can look into it.

Hello Subhashish.

At this moment I am not sure if you are just having fun of me or simply don't understand the problem. My simple request has received answers from MACM, Ragulan_Intel, Dineshbabu, you, and some others through email conversations.

So far, all the answers are incompetent and irrelevant. Let me try to reiterate the problem again, and I will try to be as clear as possible.

- My motherboard has a 12-pin TPM 2.0 header.

- Intel's official manual for my motherboard says the same thing - the motherboard has a 12-pin header.

- Intel's official manual specifies that my motherboard uses AXXTPMENC8 12-pin TPM modules.

- At the same time, AXXTPMENC8 TPM module has 14 pins and physically is not compatible with the 12-pin header.

- Intel's official documentation of the AXXTPMENC8 confirms that it's a 14-pin module.

- I could not find any Intel's documentation or specification about the mysterious 12-pin module.

- None of the Intel's authorized distributors I checked have 12-pin TPM modules on sale.

- None of the Intel's authorized distributors I contacted ever heard of the 12-pin TPM module.

Once again, I am asking here because all my attempts to purchase or find specification of this 12-pin TPM module failed.

Please, read Intel's manual for my S2600ST motherboard and link me documentation, specification, or purchase place for this 12-pin TPM 2.0 module.

Hi Miyconst,

Good day.

Kindly refer picture attached of AXXTPMENC8 physical module.

The picture @ https://www.eetgroup.com/da-dk/axxtpmenc8-intel-axxtpmenc8-accessory-wid-w125145163 is NOT a correct picture of AXXTPMENC8, it seems a different TPM modules compatible for old generation products, which is showed in https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000017015/server-products/server-boards.html

You may want to verify the physical unit before purchasing.

Sazirah, thank you for publishing a picture of the 12-pin module but I am not sure how that helps me. Please read the official Intel documentation available here:

Intel Server S2600ST Product Family Configuration Guide

https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/server-products/server-boards/S2600ST_P4000ConfigGuide.pdf

On the page 56 you can see a picture of the AXXTPMENC8 TPM 2.0 module, the picture shows a 14-pin module. This 14-pin module is available to purchase from the authorized Intel distributors and other stores but the 12-pin version is not available anywhere.

Miyconst_0-1723102611587.png

Once again, I am kindly asking to provide me with documentation, specification, or a purchase link for the 12-pin AXXTPMENC8 module.

Hi Kostiantyn,

We regret to inform you that the TPM image in the Intel Server Board S2600ST Configuration Guide is out of date, and it was supposed to be a 12-pin connector.

We are working on that, and in the meantime, we would request that you share the TPM module that you have with the markings to check for a replacement option with a compatible unit.

Vikas

Hi Vikas.

This is getting really hilarious. Please read the original post and the messages above.

I do NOT have the module and I don't know where to find it, everything I can find online is 14-pin, which is why I came here in the first place.

Hi Kostiantyn,

As previously communicated, we have received confirmation from our internal team regarding the TPM image information in the Intel Server Board S2600ST Configuration Guide. It has been identified that the guide contains outdated information concerning the TPM connector.

The correct specification for the TPM connector on the Intel Server Board S2600ST is a 12-pin connector.

Vikas

Hi again Vikas.

I know that S2600ST has a 12-pin connector and this is the main problem for me. I cannot find any Intel documentation about AXXTPMENC8 with 12 pins and cannot find any AXXTPMENC8 12-pin on sale. Searching by the Intel specified part number AXXTPMENC8 I can only see 14-pin connectors. I have also tried to reach out to some local authorized Intel distributors, non of them are aware of 12-pin connectors, they offer me 14-pin version instead.

This is why, I once again, kindly ask to provide me with documentation, specifications, or purchase link for 12-pin version of AXXTPMENC8 or give me another part number of a compatible TPM 2.0 module for my S2600ST motherboard.

If it's not possible to purchase a 12-pin AXXTPMENC8, can I at least have the pinout specification of the module so I can try to find a compatible unit?

Hi Ragulan. Thank you for the extra info but how does it help me? This thread is half a month old and got more than 15 messages from almost 10 different Intel employees. So far, nobody can give me a clear answer, where is the documentation and specification of AXXTPMENC8, is it a 12-pin or a 14-pin module, and where it is or was available for purchase?

I know that AXXTPMENC8 was discontinued but that does not help me in any way. It is remarkable but the official specification page of AXXTPMENC8 does not specify how many pins this module has. Here is the product page:

Trusted Platform Module 2.0 AXXTPMENC8 Product Specifications (intel.com)

Mouser Electronics is a large distributor that claims that AXXTPMENC8 is a 14-pin module.

Here is another Intel guide that also claims that AXXTPMENC8 is a 14-pin module.

I really don't understand how it's possible that so many Intel employees are so incompetent. Could you please just give me a simple PDF file with pinout specifications and pictures of the 12-pin AXXTPMENC8 module?
