Intel AXXP3RTX16040

Hello everyone,

      When using an Intel AXXP3RTX16040, should I assume the extra ports show up in the bios? Can those ports be configured for RAID? I do have the Intel VROCISSDMOD plugged in.

Thank you for contacting Intel Server Community.

If you do not have disks connected to the ports, you will not see the port in use in the BIOS due to the fact that it will appear in use automatically when you connect a disk or device.

Answering your second questions; you can configure those ports for RAID due to the fact this card take the lanes of the CPU and distribute them across the devices (drives). The only detail we need to have in mind is that if you are going to use the disk of the built in Oculink, and the disk of the card for just one array, you will need to have the card in Riser 1 in order to avoid that it will generate an array of multiples spans.

Thank you for your reply, if I am using this in a S2600STB board, which slot should the card be put in?  PCIe slot 2, 4, or 6?

To add some additional information, my plan was to create a RAID 1 with Oculink connectors 0 and 1 and with the add in card create an additional two RAID 1s.

This server will be a Microsoft Exchange 2019 server, with the drives on Oculink connectors 0 and 1 for the operating system and the the drives hanging off the add-in card for the database and log drives.
