M10JNP2SB PCIe* Lanes Partition differs between Users Guide and Webpage?!

Hi there Communtiy,

got a confusion with my M10JNP2SB Server Board. On the Webpage it says Max # of PCI Express Lanes : 8

In the User Manual theres a diagram showing that the PCIe* Ports #2 and #3 are both connected via PCIe* x8 Link. PCIe* Port #1 is connected via x4 Link through the Chipset.

So the questions is, how much PCIe* Lanes I can use with Port #2 and #3 since there is conflicting information. I Want to use the full x16 Ports across both PCIe* Slots (One HBA with x8 Link and one NIC with also x8 Link). Is this possible?

ManualManualWebSiteWebSite

Also M.2 Adapter x4 Link via Chipset would be nice, but i cant find information if Nvme is supported via PCIe* Adapter ?

Thanks for helping!

Hello Sixi,

Thank you for joining the Intel community

According to ark the PCIe 3.0 ports available are 2 x8 ports and 1 x4 port. https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/197377/intel-server-board-m10jnp2sb.html

This matches with the info shown in Table 1 from section 2.1 of the Technical Product Specification: https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/server-products/server-boards/m10jnp2sb-user-guide.pdf#page=12

PCIe* Add-in Card Slots

• Slot 1: PCIe* 3.0 x8 slot (x4 electrical)

• Slot 2: PCIe* 3.0 x8 slot (x8 electrical)

• Slot 3: PCIe* 3.0 x16 slot (x8 electrical)

So the configuration you want to attempt should be fine as long as you use PCIe ports 2 and 3 to install the HBA and NIC
