Hello,
short question about the S1200KPR Mini-ITX mainboard.
When I rea the product specification guide and some other resources correctly, the S1200KPR mainboard supports Ivy Bridge Xeon E3 V2 and 3rd generation i3 processors.
But when I compare this information with this site http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s1200kp/sb/CS-032725.htm Intel Server Board S1200KP — Tested processor list the 3rd generation i3 are not mentioned within the tested processors. When you look below the processor list, you can see the notes 1 and 2 which are directly making reference to the 3rd gen. i3.
The release note document of the latest BIOS (ver. 0023) http://downloadmirror.intel.com/20826/eng/ReleaseNotes.txt http://downloadmirror.intel.com/20826/eng/ReleaseNotes.txt says:
Processors supported:
Intel(R) Xeon(R) processor E3-1200 series
Intel(R) Xeon(R) processor E3-1200V2 series on the product with the product code
of DBS1200KPR and BBS1200KPR only
Intel(R) Core(TM) processor i3-2100 series
I would like to use the S1200KPR mainboard and a i3 3240 processor. That's why I would like to have a statement, if 3rd gen. i3 processors are supported or not.
Regards
Torben from Germany

I have had a similar question myself. Is the Intel S1200KPR motherboard compatible with the Intel i3-3220T CPU?
