Just wondering if i am missing something.
I purchased a ACT16GHR72U4J1600S which is stated as being compatible here: http://www.cmtlabs.com/2012/mbTestSummary.asp?bNav=True&outside=False&sTestNum=018403 CMTL > Search > Tested Motherboard > Results
However, when i insert the ram and boot the computer, i get the fatal 3 beeps.
I know there is a chance it could be bad but i do not believe it and unfortunately do not have another computer to check it with.
Is there anything i needed to do in BIOS to support it?
Current config:
(2) E5-2680v2
(2) Kingston KVR13E9/4I 4GB

Hello Taylor,
The 3 long beep indicates that you are having a memory error.
As first troubleshooting step test one memory module at the time and check if you still get the 3 long beeps. Also test each memory slot individually.
If the problem continues, please test different memory on your system, click https://serverconfigurator.intel.com/exalt/MyPartsServlet?iMethodID=4&dataset=IntelTHOL&basefilters=column1_IN_S2600CP2_AND_column3_IN_None&bypass=y here for the list of compatible memory.
You can also test your old memory module and check if the problem continues.
Best regards,
Sergio S.
