Hello,
Thanks in advance.
I have just received my Intel Edison with Arduino board kit and also I have Arduino YUN.
I am trying to create a simple configuration i.e.
Smartphone ---(Wireless)Intel Edison w. arduino board====Bridge Mode====Arduino YUN (Wireless)---Internet
Can someone please tell me if the above is doable; have they done it before and how to proceed.
thanks
SH

don't quite understand. I guess your smartphone offers tethering to multiple devices?
Do you really mean to bridge WiFi to WiFi???

Hello Matthias,
Yes I meant to bridge WiFi traffic from the Smartphone to WifI traffic to Access Point.
- Smartphone will connect to Intel Edison (Connection1)
- Intel Edison chipset is bridged with Ardunio YUN
- Arduino YUN is connected to Internet through an access point.
I want to be looking at traffic to and fro and apply a policy either ways.
Questions:
- Is it doable ?
- How can I bridge the two connections.
- How can I apply policy on each interface i.e. it might be that traffic reaches connection 1; linux scripts running on edison checks filters and vice-versa on YUN.
thanks

You can get the devkit if you attend one of our roadshows near your place. Please refer https://iotroadshow.intel.com/en/home/ for event details.

I would love to attend a roadshow - unfortunately according to Intel Australia does not exist!

You can get all the components elsewhere as well.
Software: https://software.intel.com/en-us/iot
Hardware:
- Intel(R) Edison (e.g. via Sparkfun)
- Seedstudio* Grove starter kit Intel(R) IoT Edition: http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/Grove-starter-kit-plus-Intel-IoT-Edition-for-Intel-Galileo-Gen-2-p-1978.html

One solution that I have done in the past is to use the smartphone as a wireless router. Basically you share your gprs data plan through wifi. The cool thing is that you instantly have a wireless network in your pocket, and any wifi enabled device can see the rest of the devices on the network.

matthias-hahn (Intel) wrote:<p> Sorry Matthias - being a little facetious - probably because I have written to Intel a few times re roadshows in OZ - and have never had a response. <p> At this stage I have more giblets (sensors) that is really good for me - so having more would be a bad thing - would never get any projects out the door - plus making giblets work with edison is fun (got the UPS code for a 16 channel servo controller working - just waiting to hear back from Brendon about the code I sent him). I was planning to get a SPI oled working - works under arduino environment but SPI is so slow, I am waiting for next release of edison kernel to see if it is any better - then If so - I will knock up another UPM module (or die trying!) <p> Stan
