Q about getting latest Fortran Compiler

I have a current license, which expires in about 2 months.

Do I have to pay for a Fortran upgrade?

If not, how do I avoid having to buy it?

Does that come with the latest Visual Studio?

When I try to upgrade that, it wants me to upgrade WIndows instead.

Hi,

Latest Fortran compiler doesn't come with latest visual studio, But there would an upgrade link in your Intel registration center (IRC) account if you have a valid active license.

Thanks,

Reddy

I still dont understand how to get it with my current license.

It keeps sending me to a list of sellers who want upwards of $200 for the new version.

If you cant answer my question, please refer me to someone who can.

Since you have a commercial license, runtime is permanent. But support will end in ~2 months. If you don't want to renew support you can continue using the product, but you cannot get Intel(R) Premier Support any longer and you cannot download product updates beyond the support expiration date.

Does this help?

Regards, Hubert.

NO one seems to want to answer my question -

If I want a Fortran upgrade, does that come for free with my current license?

Hi,

The answer is YES, you can now upgrade the Intel® Parallel Studio XE Composer Edition for Fortran Windows* with your current license as its still under support period.

What we meant in above communication is that , Intel(R) license are perpetual, what i mean by this is that you can use the product even after the license get expired, But you would not be able to get the support and future upgrades for the product post license expiration.

Hope i am clear. If not please do let us know.

Regards,
Sukruth H V

Well, when I tried to order it, it pointed to a bunch of resellers.

I talked to one of them, they dont do any upgrades.

Without paying their price.

So how do I get it downloaded, without having to pay upwards of $200 for it?

Is something wrong with the WEB site?

Can I talk to a telephone rep about this?

You can upgrade your compiler until your support period expires. The actual compiler version is 2015 Update 1. In the download logs I see you downloaded the online installer for the actual compiler. Did download/installation work? If not, I'll give you an alternative download link.

If you want to get compiler updates BEYOND your support expiration date you need to order a support renewal for $199 (list price). You can easily order the renewal from Intel's webstore. Please check out your renewal options via: https://registrationcenter.intel.com/RegCenter/Serialnumberlookup.aspx

Is the topic clear now?

Hubert.
