RAID storage options VMware ESXi v3.5 on Intel Serverboard S5000PSL

Intel's www.intel.com/go/ESSA offers a server configuration recipe that was tested with ESXi being installed on a single, SATA hard-drive.

My question is this: what RAID options are available for a validated solution?

I've been following up with the Intel ESAA Program about this but am still awaiting a reply.

Finally got a reply. I quote:

"We (Intel) only support SAS Hardware RAID. A SATA drive is supported in this controller. You will need two drives min for RAID."
