how are points for belts allocated

Hi

I've seen the FAQ on belts and points but the way it works seems inconsistent, how does it work ?

I created a couple of forum posts and got 20pts, just created another and only got 10pts (test came up cloning when I pressed submit)

regards

Steve

Hi Steve,

It is as follows:

  • Content comments: 5 points
  • Forum topic: 10 points
  • Forum post: 20 points
  • Article/ White Paper/ Code Sample submission/ Blog post: 80 points

You currently have 110 points.  5X10 for the 5 forum topics you have created and 20X3 for your 3 forum posts within your topics.

Ah thanks, I noticed that I got 20pts for my follow up post. I was just bemused as I would have thought the algorithm would be 20 pts for creating the post (since it only happens once) and 10 for subsequent posts to the thread since they may be multiple. But no problem Hal, I know now ;-)

Is there any description on what constitutes an accepted/quality Article/ White Paper/ Code Sample submission/ Blog post: ? - do they require review etc
