AC 9560 + Chrome + Chromecast

Hello. I am using Intel Wireless-AC 9560 160MHz on MSI PS63 Modern 8M laptop.

 

While casting from Chrome tab - the video freezes almost immediately as were mentioned. At the same moment Netwtw08 driver spamming to windows system log with an error:

 

"Intel(R) Wireless-AC 9560 160MHz : The network adapter has returned an invalid value to the driver."

I did all the recommended in other posts steps with no effect on issue.

(like checked browser, drivers, firmware versions) clean installed everything and e t.c.

muletail, I just received an update on this matter.

 

Just to let you know, there is a new Intel® Wireless driver available, it is version 21.40.2.2, please test that driver and once you get the chance let us know the results:

In order for us to provide the most accurate assistance, we just wanted to confirm a few details about your system:

Is this a new computer?

Was it working fine before?

Did you make any recent hardware/software changes?

The wireless card, did you purchased it separately or did it came installed on the computer?

When did the issue start?

Which Windows* version are you using?

How many devices are connected to that same router or Acess Point (AP) at the same time?

What is the model of the router or (AP)?

What is the bandwidth of the Wireless connection?

Is this problem happening with a different product/device?

Did you check with your Internet service provider to make sure the Internet is working properly?

Does the problem happen at home or work environment?

 

You mentioned that you already installed the proper drivers, we recommend to install the Wireless driver provided by the manufacturer of the computer, since that driver was customized by them work with your specific platform.

 

I looked in MSI's web site and the latest Wireless driver available is version 20.100.0.4, not sure if you already teste that driver, we can try a clean installation of it.

MSI driver 20.100.0.4, please select the "Wireless LAN" tab to install the driver:

If the problem persists, since you are using the Intel® Wireless-AC 9560 card, we can always try to install the Intel® generic Wireless driver version 21.30.3.2:

muletail, Thank you very much for providing that information and those details.

 

Based on the report, it seems to be that the problem is actually related to the Chromecast device itself and not to the Intel® Wireless card.

The fact that the laptop has Internet access through the Intel® Wireless card indicates that the card itself is working properly.

Besides this problem with Chromecast, is there any other issue related to the Intel® Wireless card?

 

For this specific scenario, the next thing to do and what we recommend is to get in contact directly with Microsoft for further technical assistance on this topic since they provide all the support related to Chromecast, they should be able to provide further suggestions on this matter:

"it seems" - with no proof. That`s a shame. Other WIFI (even other Intel models) adapters works perfectly well. What is really seems - there is a problem with an Intel drivers, Intel trying to get rid of responsibility. I wont recommend anyone to use those series of WiFi adapters.

I tried casting from a virtual machine (virtual box) using Ubuntu hosted on the same windows machine that wont work. And guess what? Everything works fine. So... It is not about chrome cast device or, windows (as i mentioned I have other machines with other adapters that works fine).

We are left with a specific of YOUR driver and Chrome. Chrome works with other adapters. What have we left? Let me try... Your driver! And guess what. Windows log tells the same. So - you have a bug in your driver that your developers refuse to investigate and fix.
