AX210 Bluetooth not appearing/working in Windows 11

(this is a copy of a post I've made in ISC Discord)

I've just got the AX210 installed on my pc, and downloaded the wireless+bluetooth driver for it. But the bluetooth just don't work, it didn't even show up in windows settings.
The Wi-Fi works, only the bluetooth is having problems.

This is the Wi-Fi driver that i downloaded: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19351/867870/intel-wireless-wi-fi-drivers-for-windows-10-and-windows-11.html
Bluetooth: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18649/intel-wireless-bluetooth-drivers-for-windows-10-and-windows-11.html

Here's what I've done already:
Install the card
Download+install the wireless driver
Reboot
Finds out that bluetooth doesn't show up in the settings
Download+install the bluetooth driver
Reboot
Bluetooth still doesn't show up
Follow this post: https://community.intel.com/t5/Wireless/Intel-AX210-Bluetooth-is-sometimes-missing-and-I-need-to-shut/m-p/1584926
At step 2 i can't seem to find the uninstall button for the Intel PROSet/Wireless Software, so i just skip it.
Uninstall the bluetooth driver
Keep following the post till the last step
The bluetooth is still not appearing in the settings

PC Specs:
MSI PRO H610M-S
Intel i5-12400F
Intel Arc B580 (32.0.101.8250)
32 GB DDR4-3200
1TB SSD Gen 3 NVMe
2 SATA SSDs (one 1TB one 2TB)
Windows 11 Home (last update: KB5066835, 26100.6899)

note: it's IIC discord not ISC.
The card did show up in the Device Manager, but it only shows up the "Network Adapters" tab, there's no tabs for bluetooth.

Hi @Vampire,

Thank you for posting in the community. I’ll need some additional time and information to investigate this issue. Kindly provide the following details:

  • Please provide the SSU log report and share it here so I can review your system's configuration.
  • Is this a newly added component to the system?
    • If yes, what was the previous Wi-Fi card?
  • Did it work initially after installation?
    • Were you able to see and use it, or has it never worked?
  • Do you see any error messages in Device Manager?
    • If yes (or none), please provide a screenshot showing the adapter’s status and any reported details.
  • Are there any pending Windows updates on the system?
  • Have you tried updating the motherboard BIOS or at least loading it to default settings for isolation purposes?
  • Have you consulted the motherboard manufacturer prior to installing this card?
    • If yes, what was their advice?

Intel Wireless Bluetooth typically operates over the USB interface. If Bluetooth is not detected, you have to check the USB controller and ensure USB drivers are functioning properly with no reported errors.

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,

  • Please provide the  SSU report and share it here so I can review your system's configuration.

Here’s the SSU log. (ISSU.txt)

  • Is this a newly added component to the system?
    • If yes, what was the previous Wi-Fi card?

Yes, this is a newly added component to the system.
I didn’t originally have a Wi-Fi card; I only used Ethernet on this PC.

  • Did it work initially after installation?
    • Were you able to see and use it, or has it never worked?

Yes, but only the Wi-Fi works right after installation. Bluetooth has never worked.
It does show up in the Device Manager under Network Adapters right after I install it, but there’s no Bluetooth entry anywhere in Device Manager.

  • Do you see any error messages in Device Manager?
    • If yes (or none), please provide a screenshot showing the adapter’s status and any reported details.

There are no error messages in Device Manager (Device status.png).
However, there are four drivers listed in this device’s properties (Driver1–4.png).

  • Are there any pending Windows updates on the system?

At the time of writing this, yes (Update.png, KB5068861).
When I originally made the post? No.
I wasn't gonna update windows for some time (like 5 weeks)
But when i finished the BIOS update, Windows automatically updated to KB5068861 (I do NOT want to update), I heard there's issue with this update, but I'm not gonna revert it.
If anything bad happens with this update I'll let you know.

  • Have you tried updating the motherboard BIOS or at least loading it to default settings for isolation purposes?

I have done the BIOS update when I'm writing this (https://tw.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-H610M-S-DDR4/support)
and restore to default setting in the BIOS, but the Bluetooth still doesn't work.

  • Have you consulted the motherboard manufacturer prior to installing this card?
    • If yes, what was their advice?

No, i haven't.

Hi @Vampire,

I have discovered that a new BIOS release is available for your system. Please update your BIOS to the latest version to determine if this resolves the current issues you are experiencing. After completing the BIOS update, please test your system functionality and report any improvements or persistent issues.

Should the problem continue after the BIOS update, please provide the following information for further analysis:

1. AX210 Card Purchase Details

  • Please provide the direct purchase link or product page URL for the AX210 wireless card you acquired
  • Include specific model number and vendor information if available

2. Updated System Support Utility (SSU) Report

  • Generate and provide an updated SSU report following the BIOS update
  • This will help us analyze any system changes and identify remaining compatibility issues

Please proceed with the BIOS update first, then contact us with your results. If issues persist, we will continue troubleshooting with the additional information requested above.

Thank you for your continued cooperation in resolving this matter.

Best regards,

Hi, i apologize for the late reply, I've checked msi's website both tw.msi.com and msi.com. I didn't see any new BIOS update for my motherboard, but i still downloaded 7E44v26 again and updated the BIOS.

the site that i purchased from : shopee.tw  (think it as like the amazon or ebay for Southeast Asia)

I forgot to mention, this is a PCIe to M.2 card, apologize for not telling you that.

I been considering to reinstall windows 11, on this Saturday, since i normally reinstall windows every few months or so.
Should i reinstall it on Saturday, or should i wait until you found what causing the issue?

It looks like the AX210 Bluetooth isn’t being detected over the USB interface. Try a full clean driver reinstall (remove the Bluetooth driver in Device Manager and install the latest one from Intel), then restart the Bluetooth Support Service. Also make sure your motherboard BIOS and chipset drivers are fully updated — many systems need the latest BIOS for the AX210’s USB Bluetooth to show up.

If it still doesn’t appear, the M.2 slot may not be routing USB correctly, so testing another slot or adapter can confirm it.

Have you connected the included cable to one of the USB2 headers on the motherboard? Without this connection, the Bluetooth functionality will not work.

I would also point out that many (if not most) of these PCIe-to-M.2 Type E cards do not work properly if used in a non-x1 PCIe connector. This is so prevalent that it is often pointed out in the accompanying documentation. Simply put, use only in a x1 PCIe connector; do no use in x2, x4, x8 or x16 PCIe connectors.

Hope this helps,

...S
