Intel 4965 AGN + Windows 8 RTM 64-bit = Random BSOD (netwlv64)

No matter if using the drivers included with Windows 8 or the latest available from Intel downloads page (13.4.0.139) it causes random BSOD's. I have two crash memory dumps to prove it. In addition (if it wasn't enough) the DPC latencies issues that used to take place with Windows 7 64-bit (RTM-SP1) have turned from 1000 micro-seconds spikes every 10 seconds to constant >1000 micro-seconds latencies with >16000 micro-seconds spikes that cause 5-10 seconds audio drop-outs. Of course disabling the wireless adapter solves all the problems but considering a laptop is meant to be wireless this makes no sense. Also the Windows event viewer shows unidentified events with ID: 5010 for "netwlv64" in groups of 10+ with few hours of intervals between them.

Intel released a driver 16.1.5 on 9/13/13 - I had the same issue until I installed this update - no issues for a few days now. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=23183 Download Center

How did you manage to get this to install - I'm not able to get it (i.e. the 16.1.5 driver) to work with the Intel 4965 AGN card.

Please bear in mind this adapter is now a legacy product and the support has been limited to Windows* 7 and older operating systems. The latest driver for Windows* 7 is version 15.3.1 and for Windows* 8 you may get an inbox Microsoft* driver via Windows* update.

Hello,

Also have issue with driver for Intel 4965 AGN/message/207127# 207127 at my laptop Compal FL90 using Windows 8 and 8.1 x64 (Driver from MS dated 2010-08-15 13.3.0.137).

Unfortunately solution described by Jack-the-dude [Sep 25, 2013 5:14 PM] (wireless_16.1.5_De64.zip) do not work, drivers in that package are not for 4965 AGN.

I moved to http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/wireless/4965agn Intel 4965 AGN page, and from there to https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22117 Download Center 15.3.1 (Wireless_15.3.1_Ds64.zip) and so far, so good

This is an ongoing problem with Intel drivers! I had similar problems with a Intel NUC computer. All hardware made by Intel and still problems with a wireless network card. I got the card exchanged for a new one, still problems. I tried all versions of drivers, still problem. The only solution that worked was to exchange the wireless card with a Broadcom. Now everything is running ok.

I's a shame that Intel can't make better hardware/drivers now a days!
