Hello Martinii, I read in a different thread you are using latest driver version 17.0.0. Was this happening with an older version too? Does this happen in Safe Mode with Networking?
It may also help to update your system BIOS.

Sorry for hijacking this thread but if you (joe_intel) could be so kind as to see this thread:
It relates to the 7260 AC and Bluetooth problems.

Hello joe,
I have lastest BIOS version. When I had 16.10 version of the drivers it happened after every one wake up. Now, with version 17.0 it is happening EXACTLY every three wake up... Then I have limited access and when I try to reconnect manually then all available AP-s are disappearing from the list and in Device Manager i can see error: "This device cannot start (Code 10)".

Does it help if you disable the power saving feature from the adapter properties window in device manager?

Hi,
i don't won't to hijack this thread, but i have a simmilar situation with my AC 7260 in my Lenovo E130. In Windows 7 x64 after sleep my card won't power up. No chance to get it to work. Only a reboot helps. In Windows 8.1 x64 the sleep and wakeup is working.
In Windows 7 x64 tried many SW versions of Intel Proset and driver, but no luck. The settings in adapter setting for power saving you mentioned above, doesn't help.
If you need some debug info's i can help you, hopefully this can be fixed. New installion fo WIN 7 was done, and nothing helped.
Thanks,
regards
Herbert

Hi,
sorry at the moment i'm running only windows 8.1. I will install once again WIN7 on the second HD for testing.
But for now i can answer you your questions:
- System brand and model: Lenovo E130 originally equipped with centrino 2230 N, personally changed to 7260 AC model.
- Operating system: WIN7 x64 Professional (Wireless after sleep not working) & WIN 8.1 CORE (Wireless after sleep working without problems)
- Wireless band: Happens in 802.11b/g/n and also in 802.11a/n but i think this dosn't matter, because the wireless card looks like switched off after sleep.
- Wireless Security/Authentication: WPA with TKIP and also WPA2 with AES (i think this dosn't matter - same reason as for wireless band)
- Access point model and firmware: Netgear WAG302 with OpenWRT & Thomson TWG870 & Cisco Aironet (i think this dosn't matter - same reason as for wireless band)
- Optional SIU code/report: http://www.intel.com/support/siu.htm http://www.intel.com/support/siu.htm currently no SIU, because no installed WIN7. Will answer this later, when WIN7 is running again,...
No Event's as i remember, but i will check it once again today in the evening,...
Thanks,
regards
Herbert

Adding my machine to list with issues reconnecting to wi-fi after hibernate and sleep. Wait approximately 1 minute and it connects.
- System brand and model: Dell Latitude E5440
- Operating system: Windows 7 SP1 64-bit
- Wireless band: 802.11g
- Router: Old Belkin but never had a problem with ~10 other laptops
- Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power: OFF
- Power Saving Mode: Maximum Performance
Updated to latest 17.14.0 driver today but no difference. Issue only started recently and is highly intermittant. Sometimes there's errors in the Windows logs, other times not. Sometimes it connects and drops within a few seconds of login. Never seen it on a cold boot or reboot.
Note this previous thread for the same issue appearing in Windows 8.1 and claimed to be fixed by a new driver version: /message/216452 https://communities.intel.com/message/216452
Hard to believe Intel hasn't escalated or recreated this in 10 months. Do the error messages not make it obvious? No debug data that can be captured from us?
Have a guy at Dell involved so hopefully he can recreate it under controlled conditions but even then Intel aren't showing much interest in resolving it.

Hello CurbedLarry,
Would please provide us full information on your Belkin router?
Also, could you provide us the settings for the wireless connection on the router?

It is an ancient 2006 Belkin Wireless G router, 2.4GHz, WEP security. I think looking at router settings is a wild goose chase as never had a problem before with dozens of Win XP/7/8, Linux, Android, iOS, webOS, Symbian devices.
All the time it's saying it can't connect the network can be seen in PROSet, with the correct SSID. There are no other networks around with the same name.
All the errors thrown relate to the "Profile Manager API":
# Event Source Time Error Severity Domain User Description
7 Profile Manager API 01/29/2015 08:02:20 Error Profile SYSTEM Unable to locate the specified profile!
10 Profile Manager API 01/29/2015 08:02:20 Error Profile Lawrence One or more given parameters are invalid!
31 Profile Manager API 01/29/2015 08:01:20 Error Profile SYSTEM Unable to locate the specified profile!
32 Profile Manager API 01/29/2015 08:01:20 Error Profile Lawrence One or more given parameters are invalid!
50 Profile Manager API 01/29/2015 08:00:41 Warning Profile Lawrence The given profile already exists in the database.
51 Profile Manager API 01/29/2015 08:00:41 Error Profile SYSTEM The specified profile type is not supported.
52 Profile Manager API 01/29/2015 08:00:41 Error Profile SYSTEM An unexpected error occurred!
53 Profile Manager API 01/29/2015 08:00:41 Error Profile Lawrence An unexpected error occurred!
Haven't changed any of the profile settings, I only have one profile that was auto-generated when first connecting. Have tried deleting and recreating it but no change. Something to do with an automated import/export/backup of profiles going on in the background? Are there no more detailed errors or logs?
There are people that have this problem out of the box so I'm not sure user tinkering can be blamed: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/network-internet-wireless/f/3324/t/19616336 http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/network-internet-wireless/f/3324/t/19616336
Taking the advice from the top of this thread has possibly resolved it for me but far too early to tell: /message/275852?tstart=0# 275852 https://communities.intel.com/message/275852?tstart=0# 275852
Basically re-enabling power management:
I turned this off when debugging another issue (Dell power manager utility disabling adapter at hardware level) but that is now solved.

Thanks for looking into it.
Below is the result resuming from a sleep and 2 hibernations with power management enabled. Problem appears resolved and only one error event is output:
However for another Dell owner with Windows 8.1 power management was already enabled and removing Intel Rapid Start Technology solved it (not even installed on my Win 7 machine).
Seems there is no single cause or solution, simply that the driver is very flakey in reconnecting. Clearly if these solutions worked for us it must be the driver conflicting with Windows and/or Intel's own bloatware.
It's a shame Windows has matured into a safe/reliable OS but hardware vendors ruin it by layering a ton of buggy, proprietary stuff on top. I have 10 factory-installed Intel apps installed and no idea what half of them even do.

While we're taking about the driver, can someone at Intel explain why it's using 456MB of disk space on my machine?
That's 6 times the space of the graphics driver (74MB)!
This is for the combined driver and PROSet but that's hardly the most complex app you've ever seen. The installer download is bad enough as 106MB.

Apologies if I am not contributing in the right way.
I have the AC7260 on a new laptop windows 7 pro 64bit which keeps dropping the connection. I have read this whole discussion, and tried different drivers, different settings etc with no effect. At the moment I happen to be using 16.1.52 but for the last week the connection will drop from 135Mbs to 5 or 10Mbs, and there is no connection to the internet, every 10 minutes or so, and the only fix is to disable the adaptor and re-enable it.
I am writing this, because I am wondering if there is a thermal problem with the adaptor, earlier on I reduced the transmit power under settings, and the problem went away for 2 days, before sadly reemerging. Yesterday I changed the power setting for the laptop from high performance to balanced, and instead of dropping every 10 minutes or so, it held for 2 hours.
I have not noticed any other comment along these lines, so would be interested to hear any thoughts before I return this laptop.

Ok so ive been following this thread for some time and had the disconnecting and wake from sleep issue back in august, however, I remember going through many different drivers until I found one that worked. I haven't had any issues since September 2014. I just installed the intel driver utility and want to update my driver , however, I want to back up my current wifi driver encase the issues are still present with the 17.13.11.5 driver. any ideas how I can do so, as well as locate the actual current driver revision.
all I see in device manager is
driver version : 17.1.0.19
driver date : 2014-07-21

Hello ELVIS7
The best way to prevent any issue and to be able to roll back to the previous driver would be creating a System Restore Point in Windows before updating the driver. The steps are different for each Windows version, so you can look for quick tutorials about this from Microsoft and other online sources.
The Intel Driver Update utility should be able to detect your wireless adapter and recommend the most recent driver, if you encounter any issues, you can obtain the drivers for the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 manually fromhttps://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/75439/Intel-Dual-Band-Wireless-AC-7260 Intel Download Center.
If you install the driver 17.13.11.5 or later, make sure to go to Device Manager, Network Adapters, open the Properties for the AC 7260 and in the Power Management tab, mark the option (check the box) "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
