Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 Not Working Properly

hi, I have a computer motherboard: MEG Z490I UNIFY and an Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201, I recently bought a router from Google, this is Wi-Fi 6E.

And now, instead of getting happiness from working Wi-Fi 6, I get pain.

It looks like your Wi-Fi 6 AX201 controller is not working properly.
The maximum speed that I get is 300Mbps.
And when I do a speed test, the speed drops to 150-200Mbps.

I have a Google Pixel 7 Pro phone.
Here is a piece of the specification.
Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) with 2.4GHz+5GHz+6GHz, HE160, MIMO.
The speed of the phone is 2000 Mbps.

All the equipment is in one small room.

I will upload screenshots.

Computer configuration.

I tried everything that is written on your site.

Nothing helped, how can this be?

Could you please help me?

Hello Kepler1,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I am sorry to know that you are having issues with your Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX201.

As a friendly reminder, the "Wi-Fi 6" is just the model of the adapter, which does not mean that supports 6Hz. The wireless card that supports 6Hz is the one branded "Intel® Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) Products" (like your Google Pixel 7 Pro).

Here, you can check the wireless card that supports 6GHz:

As per the issue with the internet speed. Please provide the following:

1. Is this the original adapter that came pre-installed on your computer or did you change/install the adapter to this one?

2. Is the Bluetooth working?

3. What is the brand and model name of your google router?

4. Do you know if the issue is present with the driver from MSI?

5. Are you using the antennas for the wireless adapter?

6. What is the operating system installed as well as the version and build?

1. This is a built-in chip on the motherboard.

2. Bluetooth is working.

3. Google router Model: G6ZUC

4. I have used three drivers. 1 Microsoft. 2 Intel. 3 MSI. All three give the same result.

5. Yes OEM antenna  which was included with the motherboard.

6. OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home,

Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045,
Mother Board Product MEG Z490I UNIFY (MS-7C77)
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10900 CPU @ 2.80GHz, 2808 Mhz, 10 Core(s), 20 Logical Processor(s)

Additional info

Wi-Fi
Product Type Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz
PNP Device ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_06F0&SUBSYS_00748086&REV_00\3&11583659&0&A3

And to your question do I still need help?
Yes, of course I need your help.
There shouldn't be any problems.

Please tell me that your adapter works and which you produced and put into mass production, and it's not fake.

Hello Kepler1,

Thanks for the confirmation, Based on your issues, I would like you to try the following:

1. As a test, try a clean install of the Intel drivers:

2. Did you run all the Windows optional updates?

3. Is the issue present with both bands (2.4GHz and 5GHz)?

4. Did you install the latest BIOS version (7C77v1C)?

5. Have you checked this issue with MSI to confirm if there is a hardware issue?

Best regards,

Hello Kepler1,

I was checking your thread and see that we have not heard back from you. I’m going to close your post, but if you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to create a new thread.

I recommend you get in contact with MSI to confirm if there is a hardware or software issue and if they can help replace the unit if needed.
