Is support for Wifi Link 5100 AGN coming on Windows 10 or it has been discontinued for suport?

Completed upgrading to Win 10 but now the most necessary support i.e my wifi Adaper (Wifi Link 5100 AGN ) seems dead and no version of it in compatiblity mode too is supported by Win 10 but this did not show up while upgrade checks (otherwise wouldn't have updated) but now the main question is would the driver for Wifi Link 5100 AGN be rolled out in near future for it to run on win 10 ??

The Intel® WiFi Link 5100 is not supported by Windows* 10 and will not work in this OS version.

I'm having a Lenovo X200T with the Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN running Microsoft Windows 10 Pro x64 RTM and the wireless card works just fine. The driver installed is Microsofts from 2011-10-07, version 14.2.1.4.

Hi Asim,

I had the same problems. I've installed Win8 drivers for the WiFi card, this did not help. However, when I deleted the WiFi card from the system via device manager, it reappeared in a working state! Can't remember the exact steps I took while fiddling around, but don't give up

I've tried both Win8 drivers. Don't know whether this step is necessary, as they did not seem to work. Only after uninstalling the WiFi card it spontaniously reappeared in a working state...

Don't install the driver from the designated driver cd or install file or from Intel, it won't work; ( I tried all versions of the driver in compatibility mode but none worked and then viola all because of Danidani's suggestion it works again)

here are the steps I followed which solved my problem..

1. Go to Device Manager > Network Adapters

2. Uninstall the Wifi Link 5100

3. Restart System

4. Update device drivers (you don't need to do this step if your Windows updates are on auto install and connected to Wifi)

You don't have to download it manually if you are connected Windows will do the job for you

The driver for Intel Wifi Link 5100 SWEiNSANE mentioned is pretty much an in-box driver or WU (windows update) driver from Microsoft.

If the 5100 adapter used on Win10 does not work well even with the Microsoft supplied driver, a hardware upgrade would be recommended (as in replacing the 5100 adapter with something newer & stronger like Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 WiFi adapter).

They will be able to determine if the product is approved for use in a specific system. Using an unsupported adapter may cause installation errors, or connectivity issues.

but here I wanted to know about it's future...as in Is there any chances for the driver being rolled out in near future for the device or it's just a dead end for the device from windows 10??

Go to Driver Properties -> Advanced -> enable WMM option.

The 'WMM-trick' did it. Only I have wifi g instead of 'n' as with Windows 7. What do you have? Or how do I accomplish a 'n'-network?
