Limited upload with Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 8265

Hello,

I have limited upload on my network adapter Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 8265. I've tried with different drivers, different routers, different wifi (2.4, 5Ghz), nothing helped. Upload is always at maximum around 3Mb/s.

What should I do, to find some solution?

SSU log file is attached.

Thanks!

Nikola

Hi, drasko982.

Thank you for posting in our Community and providing detailed information about your upload speed issue with the Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 8265 adapter. Can you confirm if you experience the same limited upload speed on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands? This is to check if the issue is consistent across different frequencies. Do you see similar upload speed issues when using a wired Ethernet connection? This is to determine if the problem is specific to the Wi-Fi connection. Have you checked the upload speed on other devices connected to the same network? If so, what are the results? Just to verify if the issue is isolated to the Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 8265 adapter or if it's a network-wide issue.

Furthermore, What type of internet service plan do you have, and what are the upload speed limits specified by your ISP? I'd like to verify if the issue is not related to the internet service plan’s upload speed limits.

Looking forward to your response. Have a nice day!

Hi Von,

It's the same situation for 5GHz and 2.4GHz frequencies:

This is for 5GHz

This is for 2.4GHz

2.4 ghz.png

Yes, I've checked other devices on same network, for example this is on my android mobile phone on same network as previous two screenshots, in the same position as my lap top:

Also my laptop on other wifi networks, at work, at caffes, public wifi, airport, it's always up to 3Mb/s upload.

I don't have network cable here, but I think it's the same situation because I tried at my work to connect with network cable and upload was the same 3Mb/s. But I will try again on monday when I get network cable. Maybe you are right, it's not related to wifi adapter, it's general network limitation, but let me check.

Hi, drasko982.

Thank you for sharing the upload speed for both 2.4 and 5 GHz. Your laptop consistently shows a low upload speed of around 3 Mbps. On the other hand, your Android phone, when in the same location on the same network, achieves significantly higher upload speeds of 81.4 Mbps. You've also mentioned that your laptop experiences similar upload speeds of around 3 Mbps across various other Wi-Fi networks and even when connected via a network cable at work. This suggests that the issue might not be specific to your Wi-Fi adapter but could be related to a general network limitation.

Yes. It would be helpful to test with a network cable again on Monday to further investigate. This could provide more clarity on whether the upload speed limitation is indeed related to your network environment rather than your laptop's Wi-Fi capabilities.

Please keep me posted on your findings after testing with the network cable so that we can proceed with potential solutions.

Hi Von, sorry for my late answer.

I've update bios version:

I've updated wifi driver from the link https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/777192/intel-wireless-wi-fi-drivers-for-intel-dual-band-wireless-ac-8260-and-intel-dual-band-wireless-ac-8265.html

I've tried with network cable (disabled wifi) and here is result of test:

Hi, drasko982.

You mentioned that you updated the Wi-Fi driver using the link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/777192/intel-wireless-wi-fi-drivers-for-intel-dual-band-wireless-ac-8260-and-intel-dual-band-wireless-ac-8265.html, which is provided by Intel. However, I would like to know if you have also tried the OEM Wireless driver version v22.200.2.1 from March 28, 2023. Please note that we recommend contacting your system manufacturer before installing our software or drivers, as they may offer versions specifically configured for your system.
