Hello,

I have AcerSwift Laptop (Pentium Silver N5000 procesor) and default Wi-Fi 5 card AC-9560.

I would like to upgrade wifi to Wi-Fi 6. Please advise me which wifi card to use to support m.2 CNVio interface and newer Wi-Fi 6 standard. Thanks

You may consider AX211 WiFi adapter.  Please review the comparison between AC 9560 and AX 211

Hi,

Thanks. AX211 has m.2 CNVio2 interface and unfortunately is not compatibile with AC-9560 (m.2 CNVio)

You are right, and AX211 can't replace AC 9560 adapter.  AFIK,  Wi-Fi 6 adapter with M.2 CNVio interface doesn't exists.

I would also add that CNVio2 devices themselves are not necessarily interoperable. Here's a summary:

Intel ChipsetSupported CNVi System Interface Type
Intel 300 seriesM.2: CNVio

Intel 400 series

Intel 500 series

M.2: CNVio and CNVio2*
 *CNVio2 support only for Model Intel AX101, AX201, AX203.

Intel 600 series

Intel 700 series

M.2: CNVio and CNVio2

A motherboard implementing CNVio can only support CNVio devices (there's only one, the 9560). A motherboard implementing CNVio2 can only support the CNVio2 devices that are supported with/by the chipset series utilized. That is, the AX211 and AX411 are limited to motherboards providing 600 or 700 Series chipset and implementing CNVio2 interface.

I would also add that I have heard of cases where CNVio implementations have caused problems for non-CNVi devices. In one case (reported by multiple people), POST failed if an AX200 card was plugged in.

Hope this helps,
