Windows 10 crashing on hibernate/restart/shutdown - blocked irp Advanced-n 6235

I've recently upgraded by laptop (Dell XPS 15 L521X) and I'm now suffering hangs and crashes every time my PC tries hibernate, restart or shut down. This didn't happen on my previous OS (win7).

I got a mini dump and noticed that the problem appears to be in the driver for my wifi card an Intel Advanced-N 6235. The driver was old (also bluetooth appeared to be broken) so I installed the latest drivers directly from the Intel site - 15.8.0.1. Unfortunately this doesn't appear to have solved the issue and I'm still getting mini dumps produced.

Is there anything I can do other than wait for it to be fixed in later driver updates? Here's the info from the dump:

Just in case someone else has the same issue I installed the latest bios for my XPS15 (A16) and that seems to have fixed it

It did get a bit hairy, there was a windows update as well and the laptop decided to reboot itself during the bios install (wasn't sure whether it was caused by the bios installer or not). The I got boot device unrecognized lots of times which made me wonder if the bios update had failed. Thankfully after booting into safe mode (and doing nothing) I was able to boot normally. Wipes sweat from brow....
