Hello there,
I have recently bought the desktop HP ENVY 750-079NA. The system is Windows 8.1 (64 bit). The problem is that the Ethernet randomly drops out about ten times a day. Also, the Ethernet is re-connected quickly after each internet dropping. I have checked the network adapter and it shows that the adapter is up-to-date. The network adapter is Intel (R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. I also tried a lot of possible methods for solving the Ethernet dropping but they do not work.
So, I do really appreciate if anyone could help me in figuring out this problem.
Many thanks.
Brian

Hello briansong1983,
As we understand, you WiFi connection is dropping randomly. Please consider the following actions that may help in this case:
- Apply the configuration indicated in the following document: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/sb/CS-030709.htm Wireless Networking — What are the Recommended Settings for 802.11n Connectivity?
- Contact the http://www.intel.com/support/oems.htm Computer Manufacturer Support and obtain their most recent drivers. Intel recommends using OEM drivers whenever possible, as they may include customizations required by your PC.
- As second option, try the https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25511/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-for-Windows-8-1- Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Windows 8.1*, version 18.21.0.
- Check with the manufacturer of you Wireless Access Point and make sure you are using the most recent firmware for it.
