questions regarding new be200 card

hi, so i decided to upgrade my ax211ngw to the be200. to my surprise, when i bought that card i was wondering who the hell anatel manufacturer and was doubting the quality but upon changing the cards in my gigabyte laptop, i noticed that my original ax211 was also manufactured by anatel. needless to say that made me pretty confident that the changes would work without a problem with my laptop. i installed a week prior to recieving the card all the latest drivers for bluetooth and wifi and when i got the card. it was recognized no problem. except i noticed in the advanced part of the device manager windows where you can change preferred band and all those settings, the only selectable channel width was for example the 6ghz was 20mhz or auto. no 320mhz. the same for the other bands. is that normal?? you can see in the pic the adapter is showing properly so why are the wifi 7 features not readily available?? also i cannot find how to put EHT

p.s. i do have a wifi 7 router

Hello maximalien,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.

It's great to hear that you successfully upgraded your Wi-Fi card. However, it's understandable that you're concerned about not seeing the full range of Wi-Fi 7 features, such as the 320 MHz channel width, in the advanced settings of your device manager.

But before proceeding any further, please carefully read the important articles below:

Regulatory Information Regarding Wireless Hardware Installation or Upgrade

Why Doesn't My Laptop Recognize My New Intel® Wireless Adapter?

Here are some few steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

  1. Driver Updates: Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for the BE200 card. Sometimes, the drivers provided on the manufacturer's website might be more up-to-date than those available through Windows Update. Visit the official website of the card manufacturer or the laptop manufacturer to download and install the latest drivers.
  2. Router Configuration: Verify that your Wi-Fi 7 router is configured to support the 320 MHz channel width. Some routers might have settings that need to be enabled to utilize the full capabilities of Wi-Fi 7. Check the router's manual or the manufacturer's website for guidance on enabling these settings.
  3. Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows operating system is fully updated. Sometimes, new hardware features require the latest OS updates to function correctly.
  4. Device Manager Settings: In the Device Manager, under the advanced settings for your Wi-Fi adapter, ensure that all relevant settings are configured correctly. Sometimes, settings like "Preferred Band" or "Channel Width" might need to be manually adjusted to enable the full capabilities of the card.
  5. Compatibility: Double-check the compatibility of the BE200 card with your specific laptop model. While the card might physically fit and be recognized, there could be firmware or BIOS limitations that prevent full functionality. Check with Gigabyte support to ensure there are no known issues or required updates for your laptop model.
  6. EHT (Extremely High Throughput): If you cannot find settings related to EHT, it might be due to driver limitations or the need for specific software to enable these features. Again, checking with the card and laptop manufacturers for any additional software or firmware updates might be necessary.
  7. Network Environment: Ensure that your network environment supports the higher channel widths. This includes checking for interference from other devices and ensuring that your router is placed optimally to provide the best signal.

If after trying these steps you still cannot access the full range of Wi-Fi 7 features, I highly suggest reaching out to your laptop manufacturer for further assistance.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Best regards,

JeanetteC.
