replacing my Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC3168 with a new Intel® Killer™ Wi-Fi Series

Hello, 

   I have recently bought a new WiFi 6 router but that doesn`t really help if my computer`s hardware can`t support it. I was trying to look for more information online and see if my motherboard can support a new and better wireless card. 

I found a lot of information about Wi-Fi cards and I think; it all comes down to the motherboard and whether it is compatible with the new card or not.

I couldn`t find any information about my motherboard so I am just gonna ask.

can I get the new Killer Wi-Fi 6 card and will it work?

If yes, which one? (picture 4)

There are several cards that you could use if Wireless-AC and WiFi 5 capabilities were considered good enough. Since the cards cost roughly the same, however, I recommend upgrading to the latest Wireless-AX and WiFi 6/6e capabilities. To upgrade to the latest Wireless-AX and WiFi 6 support, you need an AX200 module (Killer equivalent is Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 (x/w)). For Wireless-AX and WiFi 6e (which supports the 6GHz band), you need an AX210 module (Killer equivalent is called Wi-Fi 6E AX1675 (x/w)).

from your message, though you didn`t actually say it, I understand that the Intel killer Wifi series is not supported by my computer`s Spec but the AX 210 which is good enough is. Thank you for your reply

Actually, the same hardware is used in both cases. The AX200 module is hardware-identical to the AX1650 module; only the id is different. Similarly, the AX210 module is hardware-identical to the AX1675 module; only the id is different. The differing ids cause different firmware - providing the Killer 'goodies' - to be loaded onto and executed by the module.

Bottom line, you can choose whatever you want. I have stuck with the AX200 and AX210 modules myself.
