unable to connect using wireless connection

Since successfully restoring my laptop to factory settings I have been unable to connect using my Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection.

Initially it worked, but after a while it stopped. I have completed several system restores, and the wireless connection works for a few days. On the last occasion (after installing windows updates) I received the dreaded blue screen and have been unable to connect.

I am not sure if it is related to installing new windows updates as prior to restoring to factory settings I had no issues with my wireless connection.

I am able to connect using the ethernet cable and I am currently able to connect using Pluscom wireless usb adapter.

I would be grateful for any suggestions as its driving my insane.

I am that frustrated I attempted a final restore to factory settings and now my wireless adapter is disabled and i cant enable it.

I am using the fujitsu siemens amilo pi 2515 notebook.

The 3945 wireless adapter didn't show up in ipconfig. Here are some things you can try ->

- go to device manager to check if driver for wireless adapter is installed properly, if not, you'll need to download and install the driver

downloadcenter.intel.com -> to download the driver and software, just select the appropriate product model and OS

- check for any on/off button around the laptop, sometimes it is in function keys, such as Function + F2
