OneAPI installation query re Fortran

I have installed OneAPI Base Toolkit & OneAPI HPC Toolkit and included the Fortran Compilers. The installation appears to have successfully integrated with Visual Studio 2019 IDE, yet I don't have the option to select Fortran from the project list or through options in VS. OS is Windows 10.

Any suggestions as to what I may have missed?

Thx

Hi Norma,

Thanks for posting your concern on the forum. Kindly share the below details. They will allow us to understand the situation better.

  • The version of the Intel® OneAPI Base Toolkit & HPC Toolkit. Are they both version 2023?
  • A copy of the Info (using 'Copy Info') from 'About' of the Help section of Visual Studio.

Regards,

Soumya

Hi Norma,

Thanks for your patience while we were checking on the concern. Kindly note that the Visual Studio 2019 16.11.22 is NOT a compatible version for the toolkit. Please note, our engineering team has tested and documented the compatible Visual Studio versions and their build numbers for integration with the toolkit versions. Therefore, we would recommend you to check & choose from them via the below link.

Note: You may personally try out other versions of Visual Studio IDE, however, to address any bug or concern, we would recommend using a tested, compatible version of the IDE.

Intel® Compilers Compatibility with Microsoft Visual Studio* Linkhttps://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/reference-implementation/intel-compilers-compatibility-with-microsoft-visual-studio-and-xcode.html

Based on the situation, you may uninstall the current Visual Studio version and either:

  • install the same version of the Intel® OneAPI Base Toolkit & HPC Toolkit to make them integrate with a compatible Visual Studio version, or
  • install the version of Visual Studio IDE that is compatible with only the Intel® OneAPI HPC Toolkit 2022 based on its update version (such as 2022.1, 2022.2, etc) to make the toolkit and its Intel® Fortran Compiler integrate with the IDE.

After choosing and installing them, make sure to repair the products (that you want to get integrated) in the following order.

  • Visual Studio
  • Intel® OneAPI Base Toolkit
  • Intel® OneAPI HPC Toolkit

However, please let us know if the issue persists. Looking forward to your response.

Soumya

Hi Soumya,

I only had a chance to look at this yesterday.

I ended up installing HPC Toolkit 2023 and the Fortran options have appeared in VS 2019. I am just waiting for it to be tested, then will post the outcome.

Thanks,

Norma
