X550-AT2 VCCA pins

The Pin Interface section of the Intel® Ethernet Controller X550 Datasheet lists VCCA pins as 1.0V power pins. Except from this, the pins are not mentioned at all in the document. The Electrical/Mechanical Specification section only describes 4 voltage rails: VCC3P3, VCC2P1, VCC1P2, VCC0P83. From the reference schematics it looks like these pins should only connect to decoupling capacitors and no voltage source. Is this correct? Where is it documented?

Hello, Terje :

We apologize for the delay to give you an update.

Based on the information stated in Seccion 2.11, on page 44 of the https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/datasheets/ethernet-x550-datasheet.pdf Intel(R) Ethernet Controller X550 Datasheet document # 333369, the only VVCA difference between the X550-AT2 and X550-BT2 is the balls associated to it.

Due to this fact, the information that may help you is stated in section 9.1, on page 11 of the https://cdrdv2.intel.com/v1/dl/getContent/514722 Intel(R) X540/X550-BT2 (Sageville) Ethernet Controllers Dual Layout Design Considerations and Guidelines document # 514722.

This document is accessible when you are logged into your Resource & Design Center (RDC) privileged account. It can be requested by filling out the https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/forms/design/contact-support.html RDC Account Support form.

We hope that this information may help you.

Best regards,

Thank you very much! That was exactly the type of statement I couldn't find in any of the X550 documentation. Without any plans of supporting dual controllers, the document you point to did not seem relevant.

If you have a system for collecting suggestions for improvements of documentation, I would suggest that you submit this in order to get all relevant issues documented where it should..

Thanks again!
