Hello JSpit2,

Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.

Please try to re-installing the TCP/IP protocol, just follow the steps below and if that did not work you can try re-install the Operating system.

1) Go the My Network Places and right click to choose Property

2) Select Local Area connection, right click to choose property

3) Click on the Install button to select the protocol from the list. click Add then Have Disk to search for the protocol to re-install

By the way, Windows XP is a legacy operating system and support has been ended and since this is a Microsoft Windows XP configuration, it would be best still if you try to contact and check this issue with Microsoft.

If you have questions, please let us know.

I am guessing I don't have a problem with not being able to see Microsoft TCP/IP Version 4 in my Windows XP OS. The version of your software that came with my Dell 7010 Computer I presume is not compatible with The XP OS... My Windows 7 on the same Computer shows the TCP/IP Version 4 just fine along with the Version 6.. I get everything over the internet just fine, so, I'm not going to worry about it anymore..

Mike,

OK, in doing some research, it seems I need the following software for Windows XP:

Intel82579LM Gigabit Network Connection Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) Driver

Hopefully you can send me that file so I can get my IPv4 working using YOUR Internet hardware and software..

Thank You..

Joe

Hello JSpit2,

If you are referring to the Windows XP driver for 82579LM, you may download this driver to the link below:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/18717/Network-Adapter-Drivers-for-Windows-XP-Final-Release?product=47620

As stated on the link, this is the final release as Windows XP is a legacy operating system.

If you have questions, please let us know.
