I would like to know which basic arithmetic functions in the IP Catalog are free and which require a IP production license.

I surmise that the LPM_ADD_SUB, LPM_MULT, LPM_DIVIDE and maybe the ALTFP_ADD_SUB, ALTFP_MULT, ALTFP_DIV, ALTFP_SQRT are free, while I suppose that the ALTERA_FP_FUNCTIONS require a license as the MegaWizard tool in the latter case displays the MegaCore icon. Also, is it possible to build a few prototypes without a IP production license for the above functions?

Hello Welcome to INTEL forum. Based on my understanding, although the feature is free you still need to have a valid IP license to build prototypes for production used.
