MAX10 dual configuration IP core

On Intel MAX10 configuration guide - figure 3 describes the way that each one of the two burned images are loaded. Can this process described in figure 3 be done without using the dual configuration IP? If yes then what is the dual configuration IP needed for?

Hi ZBien,

Dual Configuration IP is needed to trigger reconfiguration and config_sel (image 0 or image 1).

In other words, you need to have Dual Configuration IP to switch between images.

Thanks

Just to be sure: Is it possible not use the Dual configuration IP in the implementation, but still to have the next process: Trying to load the first image after power up but if a first error occurs then trying to load the second image?

No, you need the IP to do this.

You're right @sstrell . Dual Configuration IP is needed for RSU.

Thanks
