I have been trying to find the answer to this question all over the internet. Nothing explains it at all. Why are there 2 IPs that perform the same thing? Is one going to be discontinued? which is better to use for memory to stream transfers? which has better documentaion or where is the documentation?

Hi, The MSGDMA is a newer version of DMA, and recommended to use this in any new design. You may refer to the following link for more detail: https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/programmable/us/en/pdfs/literature/ug/ug_embedded_ip.pdf Regards -SK
