Hello lydmq,
Thank you for posting on the Intel®️ communities. I see the blurred screen problem in the video while playing Apex Legends with your Intel® Arc™ A770 Graphics in the video, I will be happy to help you.
To have a better understanding of the issue, please answer the following questions:
- Is the graphics card an Intel Branded Card or is it from another Brand?
- Take a screenshot of the game settings. This will help us in case we need to replicate the issue.
- To know your hardware and software environment, run and attach the report for the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows (SSU), you can find the steps on the link How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows.

System Support Utility:
I'm glad you replied to me. The situation in the video was caused by playing the game for a period of time, and the initial symptom was a graininess in the game's skills.

Hello lydmq,
Thank you for your response and for all the information provided it has been really helpful.
I have seen the Intel® SSU report that the system is not fully up to date, please follow the steps below and let me know the results, since these updates may have fixes and improvements:
- I see right now you are running the latest graphics driver available, to check if the behavior changes, clean install the graphics driver to version 31.0.101.4952 with Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU). For guidance, How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an Intel® Graphics Driver.
- Some days ago Microsoft released a new Windows 11 version, update it to version 23H2, if the previous step does not solve the issue. You can contact Microsoft for guidance.
- Also, I noticed the BIOS is not in the latest version, it may have stability improvement that may help the graphics card performance, update it to version 7B89v2K. For installation steps, you can contact MSI

Hello!
I have updated the system to version 23h2, and the BIOS is also up to date. After uninstalling the driver using DDU and reinstalling the driver version 31.0.101.4952, there will still be skill granularity issues, and my frame rate is unstable. In the sunlight, the frame rate will plummet. I uploaded the latest ssu in the end.
I also found that if the graphics performance is accelerated to 35 or higher, it will accelerate the occurrence of image tearing in the video.

Apex Legends is available with the Direct 12 API. It shows much better picture quality and performance than Direct 11. In the Steam library, right-click Apex Legends, click Properties, and then add the following command line to the startup argument.

Hello !
I am currently using dx12. Both dx12 and dx11 have been used in the video, and there is a problem of image tearing in both cases.

Hello, the longest I have been using is DirectX12, and after encountering issues, I tried using DirectX11 for a while, but the screen tearing problem still occurs.

Hello lydmq,
Thank you for your patience.
We have working on the investigation and now I have the following questions:
- Was the issue happening on previous drivers?
- Have you had this issue present before?
- If it was working before, can we make sure there were no hardware or software changes?
- Provide me with step-by-step instructions to replicate the issue, this will help us to replicate the issue.

Hello, this problem has been occurring since I purchased and used the A770 graphics card on October 1, 2023.
Regarding the steps to reproduce: I get a grainy feeling when I enter the game, and then the screen tearing becomes worse after about 30 minutes of playing. In addition, if the graphics performance is accelerated and adjusted to 35 or more and the voltage is 105mV before the game, the screen tearing will be accelerated.
I didn't have this kind of problem when using Nvidia1660 graphics card before.

I'm also playing Apex Legends using the A770 16GB card. Screen tear mitigation mode: Smooth sync has been set up and is in use without issue (GPU Load does not reach 99-100% perfectly, but most situations have usage around 95%. I think driver optimization will solve it.)
Anyway, return the 35 and voltage offset settings you put in the GPU Performance Boost to the default. This setting corresponds to an overclock, and if an unstabilized value is set, game operation may become unstable.

Hello lydmq,
Thank you for your time.
We have been working on the investigation and were unable to replicate the issue, we played the fire range game more, same character, and used the same ability, but the game worked flawlessly on our end. You can find the video below.
To check if you continue having the same behavior, please update the graphics driver to the latest version we released yesterday, by following the steps below:
- Clean install the graphics driver with DDU, as you did previously. If you need still guidance, on How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an Intel® Graphics Driver.
- Install graphics driver to version 31.0.101.4953.
Let me know the results.

Hello lydmq,
Thank you for your keeping us informed.
To know if this is a hardware issue, overclocking issue and also to proceed with the next steps, I will continue with the investigation and I will be back as soon as possible.
Also, let us know if you have overclocked the graphics card.

Hello!
After encountering the issue, I tried adjusting the graphics processing performance acceleration to 35 within ArcControl. However, I did not modify any graphics card parameters before the problem occurred.
As for other overclocking, I have overclocked the CPU to 4.62 GHz and the memory to 4000 MHz, but I have maintained these overclocked parameters without any corresponding issues before replacing the A770 graphics card.
