You need to use ONLY the drivers from DELL for your laptop. Contact Dell for support on this issue.

I understand that, even deleted drivers, down to windows base, and installed directly from Dell, still 6-bit.

Hello MMcMa4,
Could you please confirm the latest Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) driver version installed on your system?

Hello MMcMa4,
Thank you for your response.
As stated above, we recommend using drivers provided by your Original Equipement Manufaturer (OEM) only. However, you may also install the latest Windows DCH drivers.
For Intel® HD Graphics 630 Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows® 10
Version: DCH 25.20.100.6519

Note: Please read the Detailed Description carefully.
We supply generic versions of graphics drivers for general purposes. Computer manufacturers can change the features, incorporate customizations, or make other changes to the graphics driver software or software packaging. To avoid potential installation incompatibilities, we recommend that you first check with your computer manufacturer and use the driver software provided.

I had gone back to OEM drivers which are still 6-bit depth, to which I got frustrated with again after uninstalling drivers, restarting the computer so it refreshes as the base windows graphics driver, which even supports 8-bit depth.
Proceeded to install the latest drivers again, still 6-bit.

Hello MMcMa4,
The standard color depth that Windows* uses is 8-bit. In some applications, the color depth will change automatically depending on the content being displayed.
Also, the driver will automatically switch to 10-bit when:
a) It detects a Display that is 10-bit capable and
b) A Full Screen DirectX* application that is 10-bit is launched.
Which applications are you having issues with? If possible, please attach pictures showing the problems you are receiving.
