Hi. I know this question has been asked many times, but many are unanswered. I have a Dell Inspiron 1545, Window 7 64 bit. Just yesterday, my laptop kept blacking out, freezes and then unfreeze and this message would pop up saying, "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows XP(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered." It keeps happening around every 15-30 minutes. Sometimes, it totally blacks out. Other times, it unfreeze but the windows are blank. Someone please help me. The display adapter I have is Mobile Intel (R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family." Some people said online to update it and that might fix the problem. I went to the Intel website and updated the lastest one given, but the problem is still here. I've restored my laptop to a certain restore point, but still did not solve the problem. Suggestions and ideas? Thank you a head of time.

Thanks for the info Donatas!
It appears there is either an issue with your system and the driver, or the specific installation of the driver. I would recommend doing the following:
1. Uninstall the display driver (delete all associated files if/when prompted)
2. Restart computer
3. Re-install the latest Asus* driver (you can try doing this with our driver as well)
Something might have gone wrong during driver installation, or perhaps some existing files and/or older drivers caused a conflict with the installation. Let me know how it goes!

Carl - can you check your C:\Windows\Minidump or C:\Windows\Memory for any minidump files (.dmp) to see if your system is generating them when the driver crashes? I'm currently unsure if the system creates them for our driver, so let me know if you can find some or not.

@kurnia: The driver your OEM has for you (.2117) is the same as our latest for your hardware (also .2117). In the original DxDiag you provided, you had this driver installed - do you know if it was the one from your OEM, us, or just one that came default on the system? Additionally, if you go into the Power settings of the Intel® Graphics Control Panel (Ctrl + Alt + F12), what setting is it currently on? If not already on it, can you set it to "Maximum Performance" and tell me if the issue still occurs?

Let me know if I've already suggested this to you;
1. Completely uninstall the driver via Device Manager (delete all associated files)
2. Restart the system
3. Re-install the driver (.zip version) using the have-disk method

@Carl: You can also change the power settings of your system in the Windows* control panel under Power Settings. Can you change that to max performance, and then see if you are still crashing?

I've done everything you suggested, re-installed the drivers a few times, it still seems to report the driver malfunction (has stopped responding and recovered) causing black screen and a BSOD eventually. I took the advice and installed-updated .NET and that didn't help. Any ideas? Do you think it might be a hardware problem aswell like for Carl? Attaching my dxdiag for the last time, maybe there's something changed (sorry, not too literate in that :c )

Secondly, if you're system is BSOD'ing, it is definitely not software. You could be overheating, or have an overall hardware failure problem. I would contact your OEM and get it checked out.
