Hi. I know this question has been asked many times, but many are unanswered. I have a Dell Inspiron 1545, Window 7 64 bit. Just yesterday, my laptop kept blacking out, freezes and then unfreeze and this message would pop up saying, "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows XP(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered." It keeps happening around every 15-30 minutes. Sometimes, it totally blacks out. Other times, it unfreeze but the windows are blank. Someone please help me. The display adapter I have is Mobile Intel (R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family." Some people said online to update it and that might fix the problem. I went to the Intel website and updated the lastest one given, but the problem is still here. I've restored my laptop to a certain restore point, but still did not solve the problem. Suggestions and ideas? Thank you a head of time.

Same problem here until I unistalled the graphics driver tonight. I just bought the Asus H81M-A MB with a 4th gen Pentium G3220 dual core processor for a build I'm doing for my 77 year old father. I decided not to go with a graphics card because it's not like he's a gamer. I installed Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1, DLed all the drivers off the MB disc. I had all the latest versions of the Intel and Asus drivers with the exception of the BIOS updates. I chose to uninstall the graphics driver first to see what would happen and as I am typing this I have had no issues for over 2 hours whereas prior to that the graphics driver would "stop responding and recover" with every few times it going BSOD.

So, atm, I'm running on the "Standard VGA GFX Adapter" at 1920 x 1080 through the HDMI cable. I may try to install the driver again this week end, but for now I'm just going to monitor the system with AI Suite and see how the processor runs and if I have any more display issues.

Hey. I have the same problem with my display driver. ERROR: Display Driver Stopped responding and has recovered. It's quite concerning considering I just re installed windows 7. Could you please be my Superman and help save me? Thanks you.

I am not sure why this thread shows as being answered, as I have read thru 30 pages and see no answer. Perhaps my experience might help us ALL find an answer to this issue.

I have a machine that I built and was running just fine until installing Windows 8 and recently 8.1. I thought perhaps my hardware was bad after many, many attempts at diagnosing the issue and this has become more and more frustrating.

My prior system had the following: Asus P8Z68 Deluxe/GEN3 with 2600K CPU, EVGA GTX560Ti Video Card.

Then I recently upgraded to: AsRock Extreme6 with i7 4770, same video card.

After several hundred dollars of changing hardware and time installing every driver I can find, the issue still remains. My DXDiag shows no issues so no reason to post another long message with that. There is absolutely no trend that I am able to identify as to when and how this happens. It can happen multiple times per day or once a week. I have done all of the usual stuff that is mentioned in this thread to say the least.

I am definitely convinced that there is a fundamental underlying reason for this that has yet to be identified. If someone at Intel could please take this seriously and find us a real solution, that would be much appreciated. After seeing the previous post on voltage adjustments, this is the first thing I have seen that might be a possible root cause and should be addressed ASAP.

I look forward to seeing a solution to this problem in a prompt manner. Please see this is escalated internally at Intel as too many OEM's are seeing the exact same issue. As a shareholder of Intel, it bothers me to see things like this take so long to see a fix.
