Intel HD Graphics 5500 in HP Spectre x360 convertible issue

When I scroll from one picture to another in Windows Essentials Photo

Gallery parts of the preceding picture come along and appear with the picture. Included with this note are two examples. This only occurs when scrolling from left to right. In the other direction this doesn't occur.

I have asked the Microsoft Community and have not received a working solution. There was one post from another user (new Dell PC) with the same issue and no solution.

Uninstalling / reinstalling Photo Gallery didn't work. Returning my PC software to its original out of the box state didn't work either. The HP technicians on line were unable to fix the issue, and neither were their counterparts in Tennessee where I sent my PC to be fixed.

The issue doesn't appear on my HP Pavilion i7 desktop, HP DM4t laptop, or Microsoft Surface Pro.

The HP Spectre x360 convertible is running Windows 10, 8 gb ram, 500 gn HD, Intel Core i7-5500 cpu @ 2.40 GHz. The Intel HD Graphics 5500 driver is v 20.19.15.4377 dated 1/25/16.

The issue is very annoying.

Your help would be welcomed.

Hi Tombaltex,

I suggest you verify here with HP; if your HP Spectre x360 has been tested and can be upgraded to Windows 10.

You can try with this method, installing the generic driver manually.

Thank you Hellen for your suggestions, which I did try out and my HP Spectre x360 laptop was qualified for Windows 10. Unfortunately the beta driver update didn't resolve my issue.

I did uninstall the Intel graphics drivers back to the Microsoft default graphic driver. This worked, but only for the laptop. I was unable to push the laptop screen to the extended 27" desktop monitor.

Any other thoughts you have would be welcomed.

Again, Thank you Hellen. I install the older driver mentioned in your recent e-mail. It didn't fix my issue. The issue I am experiencing and have described occurs on both the HP Spectre x360 screen as well as the HP Pavilion 23 xw 23" monitor. The monitor is connected to the laptop via an HDMI cable.

Other suggestions are welcome.

Thank you.

Hi Tombaltex,

In order to clarify, cold you explain me this comment: I did uninstall the Intel graphics drivers back to the Microsoft default graphic driver. This worked, but only for the laptop. I was unable to push the laptop screen to the extended 27" desktop monitor.

Is this the connection you have and is giving you this issue?

HP Spectre x360 connected via HDMI – HDMI to HP Pavilion 23 xw 23" monitor.

Are you using two monitors?

Does it happen with a specific application or program?

Regards,

Hellen.
