Some problems with some shaders (it seems) in the last (23-01-2017) build of UE4 Unreal Tournament (public alpha)
https://postimg.org/image/ozjny58pd/ 1 — Postimage.org
Not the only one of course, a lot of shaders seem to have that black line/pixellation problem, you (Intel devs) can try by yourself.
Message was edited by: Lorenzo Donizetti Addendum: the mess is due to the detail shader option (as expected)
Turn it off and a big chunck of black pixels (not all) will disappear Furthermore that option AND "Reflecton Environment Mapping" option are the major causes of FPS drop in this game using an Intel GPU. Can you fix? Thanks!

Similar problem with "Reflection Environment Mapping" option in other maps.
Excessive reflection (white saturation):
Nonetheless disabling all the complex shaders some black pixels remains:

Hello hekoone,
Could you please provide your Graphics report? I would like to check some information in regard to your system. Here you will find the instructions on how to get the report; http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005848.html Report for Intel® Graphics Drivers, please attach the file. To attach a file, you must click "Use Advanced Editor" in the top right corner of the response box, then the "attach" option will appear in the bottom right corner of the response box.

Here.
@1280x720 performance is the minimum acceptable but OK for an iGPU with an Alpha prototype ^_^ (UE 4.15). The "heavy weight" options are those 2 (High Detail Shaders and Reflection Environment Mapping).....if you can do some optimizations about it would be awesome ^_^
ALL the other options can be set to "high" (!!!) and there's no particular performance hit (@1280x720 of course)

Thank you for that information.
Does the issues persist with driver .4542 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26404/Intel-Graphics-Driver-15-45-?product=88345 Download Intel® Graphics Driver [15.45]? Please give it a try, use this method for the installation; http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005629.html Manually Install an Intel® Graphics Driver in Windows® 10 and Windows...

It's not important for me to play UT now, I'm just reporting the bug of this particular beta version for your developers team and highlight the 2 options that are more FPS-killers, for the future (not past) drivers packages

I understand, the reason why I requested this driver to be tested is because we want to cross out a possible driver regression. I have checked our records and I could not find any reports related to this game, what I am trying to say here is that you are our main source regarding this shader issue. So, any information you can provide will definitely help to track this down.
Regards,
Amy.

AMD users too had some problems (black pixellation) and all players reported increased FPS variance, so I think it's not mainly related to a regression of the driver but to some new features/modifications of this new version of the UE (4.15).
I suggest your driver-QA team to follow closely the development of the Unreal Engine (UT is just a showcase of it, technically speaking).
Let me reinstall the linked driver and I'll report the findings here

/thread/110539 hekoone, thank you for that information.
For testing purposes, could you please try setting "Performance" in your Intel® HD Graphics control panel configuration? Open the Intel® HD Graphics control panel, go to 3D and then select Performance.
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Amy.

Thank you for the screenshot.
Please try the following; in the Intel® HD Graphics Control Panel, go to "3D", and under "Global Settings" disable "Application Optimal Mode". If it is disabled, enable it and check if it makes any difference.

Amy.

Hello Amy and hekoone ,
The driver 4574 seems the best driver I've tested so far. Vulkan works also with one exception.
It seems like there is problem with compute shaders.
With compute shaders off here is a Doom image on Vulkan:
With compute shaders on:

Yes, good drivers with some issues. Doom plays well (@1280x720) too on 4574.
Amy, I tested disabling "Application Optimal Mode" in UT and there's NO difference in behaviour.

We are working on releasing driver for this graphics controller, at this stage there is no estimated time for the release. But, I want to let you know that once the driver is officially released there will be an update the following thread; /thread/110642 https://communities.intel.com/thread/110642 post # 10.

The graphics controller you gave the link is not the same ...
And we are not reporting the same issues.
The problem remains in version 4590.

Anyways guys, the driver was already released and it can be found here; https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26563/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-45-?product=88345
/thread/110539?start=15&tstart=0 Ronin mentioned that the issue persists on his system, but what about you /thread/110539 hekoone? Can you give it a try and share your results?
Regards,
Amy.
