A770 Highlights cannot be enabled unless the current display resolution is....

Hi, I have an A770 8GB and I want to turn on Highlights in the Studio settings of the control panel (capture game highlights).

Unfortunately when I click "on" for highlights I'm told:

"Highlights cannot be enabled unless the current display resolution is 1080p/2k/4k"

My resolution is none of these, it's 3840x1600. However, surely highlights *should* work in any display resolution? Will this be fixed?

Thanks,

Hello BaronBomburst

Thank you for posting on the Intel® ARC™ Graphics Communities. I am sorry you are experiencing issues when trying to use the game Highlights feature in Intel® Arc™ Control.

What version of the driver are you using? Please test both driver versions 31.0.101.4314 and 31.0.101.4369 as they contain different versions of the Intel® Arc™ Control Software.

Also could you please confirm if the feature work when using one of the resolutions mentioned by the software?

Best Regards,

Hi Hugo, I'm running 31.0.101.4369 - the latest. Yes, it does allow me to switch it on if I drop my resolution down to 1080 but of course this is unusable for me given my high native resolution.

Thank you Hugo. If it helps for your report replication should be easy:

1. Change resolution to something other than 1080p/2k/4k

2. Open ARC control panel and attempt to start the highlights feature

3. Highlights should FAIL

Contrasted with:

1. Change resolution to 1080p/2k/4k

2. Open ARC control panel and attempt to start the highlights feature

3. Highlights should START

Hello BaronBomburst

Just to make sure, Are you trying to activate the feature while playing games or before starting any game? In case you do it while playing, Does the issue happen with any game?

Hi Hugo, I'm trying to activate this just at the desktop. I also jumped into a game and then tried to turn it on and that also doesn't work. Same errors.

Hi Hugo, I can confirm the same problem exists with the new 31.0.101.4502 drivers.

Hello BaronBomburst

Thank you for your patience. We have checked this issue with our dev team and have confirmed this is a limitation in the Intel® Arc™ Software. The Auto Game Highlights feature is limited up to 4K resolution and doesn't work on Ultra-Wide resolutions. We have forwarded this to the dev team to see if Ultra-Wide resolutions can be made available taking into consideration that these resolutions are often used by customers., however, there is no estimated time or date for when this will be available. We appreciate your understanding and taking the time to report his issue to us as it helps us to continue improving our drivers and software.
