does image sharpening work? (B580)

i have no clue what it does.
does image sharpening function like sharpening filter or something different?
would tell how it work with real world example or just how to know it properly working?

Let me share the update the I have for this issue:


I wanted to inform you that, following our investigation, the features Image Sharpening, Adaptive Tessellation, and Anisotropic Filtering have been discontinued starting with Intel® Graphics Software (IGS) version 25.22.1502.2, which is included in driver version 32.0.101.6913. These features will no longer be available in subsequent versions.


For further details, I encourage you to read our article titled "Intel® Graphics Software (IGS) Image Sharpener, Adaptive Tessellation, and Anisotropic Filtering Not Working" which provides more information on this change.


At this point, I can no longer proceed to investigate the issue with Image sharpening and will proceed to close this case. This thread will no longer be monitored.

2. half yes. i did not care before.

3. nexon vindictus(DX11). i guess games doesnt matter. it not working CS2 too.

Thank you for the update.


I am sorry, I cannot read the settings since it is in local language. By the way, what is your Graphics game settings? Are you using High or Ultra Graphics settings? Can share some screenshots of the whole Graphics settings of the game in English?


And also, you may try to update the Graphics driver using DDU method and make sure that the BIOS of your motherboard is updated to the latest. Please refer to the links below:

Have you also tried my recommendation to update the driver using DDU and BIOS update?


If yes and still having the same issue. Kindly help generate the SSU logs of your system for further investigation.

i tried reinstall with DDU no difference.
bios is F30 version latest but guess no impact to GPU according to description my bios is F29 version.
anyway take my SSU log hope could help to fix this issue.
also maybe some event log have korean string (because default language korean) and i using firewall management software called "tiny wall". it make generate meaningless event log about connection fail or can't run something network because i blocked it.
hope not misleading if someone check that.

and please add example/demo/showcase how they work.
i couldn't understand Adaptive tessellation before google it and image sharpening is no information.
this is horrible if people don't know what those option do.

Having said that, let me continue to check this inquiry and would need know the following details below to further investigate the issue:


  1. Please share the settings you used on Vindictus so that I can recreate the issue they saw where image sharpening is not working?
  2. On CS2, during gameplay - Can you see the same issue or is the issue only limited on the settings screen?
  3. Aside from the 2 games, did you also encounter the issue on other applications?

sadly latest driver update make disappear setting i can't re-create the issue until get back.

 

setting is gonesetting is gone

 

I didn't make comparison screenshot, but it didn't work all games. (in CS2 gameplay or not whatever)
and about vindictus setting you need to know some limits.
Vindictus KR server(마비노기 영웅전) doesn't support english.
and Vindictus KR/US each server doesn't allow connect another region.
so if you really need vindictus setting should know some korean.
honestly doesn't make sense that it works or doesn't work depending on certain settings.

"높음 (High) / 보통 (Middle) / 낮음 (Low)", "사용 (Enable) / 사용 안 함(Disable)", "없음 (None)"

guess each setting position is same KR/US.

yap. 32.0.101.6913 version.
if you need compare screenshot i can downgrade it. i have downloaded driver.
but looks someone try to fix this issue preemptively disabling option setting Either I'm paranoid. (。_。)
hope can be fix it quickly.
