Hi,
I am working on a project using ROS 2 Humble on Raspberry Pi 4 with Ubuntu 22.04 OS.
Is it possible to install Openvino toolkit on Ubuntu 22.04 on Raspberry Pi 4? I plan to use the Intel NCS 2 for inferencing and combine with ROS 2.
Thanks

Hi nilutpol_k,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
For your information, OpenVINO™ Toolkit for the Raspbian OS Package is only validated for Raspbian Buster,32 bit and Raspbian Stretch, 32-bit.
For Raspberry Pi with Ubuntu OS, you have to build OpenVINO™ from open source (see build instructions). However, building OpenVINO™ from open source is only validated on Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04.
To answer your question, it should be possible to build OpenVINO™ from open source on Ubuntu 22.04 on RPI with a caveat.
Regards,
Peh

Hi Peh,
Thank you for your reply.
So can i build OpenVINO from source onto Ubuntu 20.04 on a Raspberry Pi 4?
Also is it feasible to build OpenVINO from source on Ubuntu 22.04 on Raspberry Pi 4 as OpenVINO is still not available for Ubuntu 22.04?

Nilutpol

Hi Nilutpol,
Yes, you can build OpenVINO from source onto Ubuntu 20.04 on a Raspberry Pi 4.
Building OpenVINO from source onto Ubuntu 22.04 on a Raspberry Pi 4 is not yet validated by development team and tested on our side. However, I am seeing other folks successfully built OpenVINO from source onto Ubuntu 22.04 but not sure whether the compiling is on Raspberry Pi.
