Getting Started with Altera SOCKit Rev B

I have an old Altera SOCKit Rev B, and I would like to get started learning about digital logic. What is the best way to get started? Should I use an older version of Quartus to match the dev board, or will the latest version work without much effort.

I'm assuming this is a Cyclone V dev kit from Terasic:

If that's the case, you can use the latest version of the Standard or Lite edition of Quartus (not Pro).
