ModelSim waveform annotation

I try to update my teaching labs from VWF simulator to ModelSim and have trouble to find a method to add an annotation/comment to a wave like you could do in the VWF simulator with the "Text Tool". Is this not available in ModelSim, or how can you do that? You can add text/annotation after a snapshot e.g. in PAINT, but then every time you repeat the simulation you are loosing the annotation.

Hi, with a multi-layer picture editor like Gimp, Photoshop..., you can create a mask.

You can do with Paint too :

Open one PAINT,

Paste your waveforms Image

Open an other PAINT

Create an image with annotation, with WHITE background.

Copy this image to clipboard (Ctrl-c)

Go back to your waveforms image

Select the "no background mode" (I don't know the exact term),

Select WHITE for backround color, so WHITE will be TANSPARENT

And Paste (Ctrl-v)
